I checked the movie times in my area to see if my super conservative-christian movie theatre would be showing the film. Much to my chagrin the movie is being shown as just ‘Zack and Miri’. Come on if you can’t put the whole title, don’t show the damn movie. My review will be in a update.

UPDATE: I finally saw this movie today. All I have to say is WOW.  Now this film is a romatic comedy, but kevin smith is Dr. Frankenstein and has changed it to become everthing I want from a comedy.  I really like the fact that the characters talk how real people talk. This flim should definatly encourage people to make there own porno’s, just DON’T send those links my way…. PLEASE

All in all, please go see this flim. There are alot of tits, ass, dicks, and sex but this flim really strives in the laugh department!

Maxiell was set to be a free agent next summer, and the pistons knew he was need for farther success for the team. Maxiell was the 26th overall pick in the 2005 draft and has averaged 6.0 points and 3.7 rebounds  in his career coming of the bench.

According to Brewers GM they hired “a proven winner.” Well according to Ken Macha’s last employer, Oakland A’s, they would probably say otherwise. He managed the A’s from 2003 to 2006, bolstering a 368-260 record. Sorry but that doesnt seem like a “proven winner” would have such a mediocore showing. He was fired in 2006 after being swept by my Detroit Tigers. I guess we will have wait until the season starts, but brewers fans sorry but don’t expect much out of a francise which is going to probably lose two major piece in CC Sabathia and Ben Sheets.

My Buy(s) for this week is only one DVD. The DVD is Journey to the Center of the Earth. The only way to actually appreciate what this DVD has to offer is to purchase it. The DVD includes four pairs of 3D glasses so you can enjoy it with the whole family. The special features are somewhat limited but don’t let that discourage you from enjoy this great family adventure.

My Rent(s) for this week is again only one DVD. Kit Kittredge: An American Girl is a great movie for family movie night. Its the story of a little girl who struggles through live during the great depression.  She lives with her parents in Ohio and loves to write mysteries. Her dream is to get her stories published in a local newspaper. This movie is defiantly something that children will love, but also has a great message that parent will fall in love with as well.

My Don’t Even Think About It is Zombie Strippers. It star Jenna Jamison in her first venture outside of the adult film industry. The films title makes you say “wow, strippers in a horror film? AWESOME.” Well let me tell you this film is awful. Not only is the acting over the top (in a bad way), but it also has “bad” nudity. The film tries so hard to something its not, a horror film with good acting and nudity.

My Favorite Movie

My all time favorite movie is Star Wars. When the film first came out it was regarded as the best film of 1977, but as time went by it was regarded as one of the best movies of all time. I first saw Star Wars when I was 6 years old and since then I have saw the film well over two dozen times. The film is defiantly a pop culture staple, and has been parodied by the likes of Family Guy, Robot Chicken, and even songs by Weird Al.

The film is set in a fiction distant galaxy and is a prequel to the life and upbringing of Anakin Skywalker. Skywalker is said to be the chosen one, as told in the Jedi Prophecy, and is accepted as a Jedi. Skywalker later turns on the Jedi’s to the dark side and becomes a Sith Lord. This film story is set 19 years after Anakin Skywalk turns to dark side and becomes the Sith Lord Darth Vader. The film opens with the Vader finishing the construction of his space station the Death Star, which will help him to once and for all destroy the galactic republic. Vader also is holding the princess Leia captive because she stole the plans to death star and hid then in a droid.

The only savor is a young boy named Luke Skywalker. Luke bought the droid in which Leia hid the plans to the death star. Upon clean the droid young Luke accidently triggers the message left by Princess Leia. The message asks for help from Obi-Wan. Seeking to help the beautiful princess, Luke find Obi-Wan and shows him the message. Luke finds out that Obi-Wan is a Jedi knight and asks him if he can help. The young Luke and Obi-Wan go on a wild adventure, trying to save the galactic republic.

This film teaches valuable life lessons, and really brings me back to my early childhood. That is why I chose this film as my absolute favorite of all time.

Why Not?

            Why don’t they do it? It is because there too busy? Or because it really doesn’t matter. Maybe it’s because there not registered. Oh here is a good one maybe they just forgot. Americans young and old don’t vote for one reason or another, but why? In America, just about anyone can register to vote. In fact you have to not do things to vote. You have to say no when you apply for a license or state ID. You have to not be convicted of a felony, and you have to be at least eighteen years old. If it’s so easy to vote in America then why do 4 out of 10 eligible Americans not vote?

            The lowest voting rate in history occurred in 1824. It was only 26.9 but that’s really not fair as most Americans in 1824 really didn’t have the information.  The lowest rate in the “modern era” was in 1996. That year the candidates were the incumbent Bill Clinton and his republican opponent was Bob Dole. Clinton won that election in nearly a land slide, winning the popular vote 50.24 percent to Dole’s 40.71 percent. Clinton won the electoral vote that year 379 to 179. Even though Bill Clinton’s ethics were in question, most Americans believed Bob Dole, 73, was deemed too old. Through a USA today poll of Americans who didn’t vote, 30 percent said they didn’t vote because they didn’t deem either candidate worthy of voting for.

            The highest voting rate in history was in 1960. A whopping 63.9 percent of eligible Americans voted in that election. The candidates in that election were Democrat John F. Kennedy and Republican Richard Nixon. While Kennedy lost the amount of states carried 22 to 26, he won the popular vote and the electoral vote and took the election. Some historians  say that the voting rate was so high because American feared that our economy was failing and that we were falling behind the Russians both in the military and in technology.

            The above numbers indicate Americans need to be interested in the candidates and need to be scared into voting. I think that if we want more people to vote then we need to make sure people are more educated and make sure that they are given incentives to go out and vote. My ideas for getting Americans to vote are simple.

            The first thing to do is to give people the exact information that they are looking for. According to a recent poll by the California Voters Foundation found that 33 percent of registered voters didn’t vote in 2004 because they didn’t know enough about the candidates. Elections are nasty. The campaigns lie, well stretch the truth, and the parties just plain give false information. If there was a government assisted organization where people could get real valid information, I believe turnout would increase. According to the same poll as above, 28 percent of voters didn’t vote because they are too busy. If these people were more informed about early voting and Absentee Ballots then voting rates are bound to increase.

            The next thing I think will increase voter turnout is to give people real incentives to get out and vote. If Americans were give a tax break if they voted then turnout would more than likely increase dramatically. Another way is to withhold income tax returns if a person doesn’t vote in at least one election every four years. Now this may seem extreme but if it was tied into my other ideas then we would have well-educated voters as well as a high turnout. The incentives do not even have to be on a government level. In 2004 Chicago business’ offered lots of different things to people who could prove they voted. Americans like to feel like they are special and free stuff is just the way to accomplish it.

            They are plenty of reason to vote. Everyone has had some gripe with the way things are going, and the only way to make sure your voice is heard to carry yourself down to your polling location. If you don’t vote for yourself, then vote for the for the 3,020 who died on 9/11, because all the warnings were ignored. Or vote for the for the 1,836 who died in Louisiana and Mississippi, and the 705 missing and presumed dead. Or vote for the 2,836 troops who have died for lies, lies and more lies. Or vote for the hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqi civilians who are unimpressed with this version of democracy. If you don’t vote for yourself, then vote for the people who only wish that they could.

Microsoft said that they were working on start upand shut down times, as well as working with manufactures on ever going hardware issues. They also highlighted two of the big new features that they hope will change peoples opinion about Microsoft after the Vista Fiasco of the past 3 years. The first is the new taskbar display.  It allows for easier management of windows and also is sort of a fresh look. The other big feature announced was support for multi-touch display. If you dont know what multi-touch display is then here is wikipedia’s defination.  Multi-touch consists of a touch screen (screen, table, wall, etc.) or touchpad, as well as software that recognizes multiple simultaneous touch points, as opposed to the standard touchscreen (e.g. computer touchpad, ATM), which recognizes only one touch point. 

So far I am impressed with the screenshot provided by PC World. Now so far the major details are still sketchy but I really hope microsoft doesnt drop the ball with this one.

But these guys took it way too far. Their plan? To go on a national killing spree, shooting and decapitating black people and ultimately targeting Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. WHAT THE FUCK! Honestly, how can there still be such hate in a nation known as the greatest in the world? These guys didn’t just stop with naming Barack Obama. They “allegedly” planned 88 different murders, include 14 beheadings. Let me say it one more time, WHAT THE FUCK!

The two men were arrested on unspecified charges. Officials described the two males as neo-Nazi skinheads. The suspects also stated that they were willing to die in there attempts.

The numbers 14 and 88 are symbols in skinhead culture, referring to a 14-word phrase attributed to an imprisoned white supremacist: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children” and to the eighth letter of the alphabet, H. Two “8″s or “H”s stand for “Heil Hitler.”

Well at least these sick intolerant ass holes were caught before for they could cause any permanent damage.

If you are one of the millions people who have an iPhone then you should check out polling trend site Pollster.com, published by National Journal columnist and Democratic pollster Mark Blumenthal, and contrarian news, politics and culture web mag Slate.com, have linked up to create this handy app, Slate Poll Tracker.
3. The non-partisan Open Secrets.org, run by the Center for Responsive Politics, tracks the flow of donations to candidates. Or poke around your friends’ and neighbors’ donations with Fundrace.org, run by the left-leaning megablog The Huffington Post.
4. If you have not voted before then get ready for Nov. 4 by finding your polling place via map tools from Google and Vote411.org.
5. This one is my favorite of all these tools. Tell the candidates how you really feel – and see what others are saying – by posting a video to the non-partisan whatwouldyousaytothepresident.com

The first big new feature of 8.10 is GNOME 2.24. GNOME is the user interface in which ubuntu runs on. Its responsible for the menus, login screens, and everything in between. The new version is going to include time-tracking application, a SIP-based audio/visual conferencing client called Ekiga, and a whole lot of sweet applets that add advanced functions to your desktop. GNOME also includes an enhanced tab-based file browser, a smart search utility that solves basic math and allows you to search popular sites directly, and more advanced resolution controls for X.Org. Gnome 2.24 also includes much needed enhancements for mobile users, with better Bluetooth support and support for Offline access to Exchange servers using the Evolution application.

The next big feature is the updates to X.org 7.4. X.Org is the software that actually draws the graphical UI. X.Org offers all the features you’d expect in a modern renderer, like support for 3D-composited desktop and even hardware-accelerated video playback.  While it doesn’t include the big and flashing upgrades like GNOME, it does include some few very noticeable performance and compatibility improvements, namely in boot time improvements and support for a wider variety of input devices.

The next big update is to the Linux kernel. The update takes the kernel to version 2.6.27. The Linux kernel handles the basic functions of the operating system, from managing memory allocation to support for hardware like IDE controllers and mice, the kernel is the underpinnings for the entire operating system.

The 2.6.27 kernel offers the usual mix of performance enhancements, power user features, and support for new hardware. We’re especially excited about the speed enhancements to the Ext4 file system, better support for USB webcams, and some significant gains in battery life for mobile users.

After that there are just a few small changer are there as well. They include some upgrading to put all network connects in the same place, making it easy to manage wired, wireless, or cellular connections. There are also Guest account addition so when your invalid relative uses your computer they don’t mess everything up.

All of these changes are not exclusive to ubuntu. Any Linux distro that uses GNOME, X.org, or the linux kernel will also see these changes.  So I guess the so what has been answered. Ubuntu has increased the usability of the ever growing Ubuntu distribution. If you want to try ubuntu you can download the ISO file, then follow our instructions here.
